You may or may not have noticed this icon on the inspection screen of one of your Devikin, and wondered what it is. This icon means that the Devikin is what we at Moonlabs call a “Dummykin,” or an account bound NFT.
A single Dummykin is given to new players of the game so that they have a stepping stone, or more accessible point of entry to the game. Especially if those users are new to NFT games as whole, or the crypto scene in general. What this does, is it allows us to provide that easy entry point without devaluing NFTs as a whole since these Dummykin cannot be traded, procreated, or otherwise utilized in any of the various burn and trading mechanics available to players.
In future, we intend to allow for one time purchases of Dummykin so that when Phase 2 arrives, players new to the NFT game genre will be able to get started with every bit of content available within the game as quickly as possible, without the burden of knowledge involved in getting started with such a thing.
NFT games can be daunting, especially at first glance — what with the variety of outside applications such as wallets and exchanges that must be utilized to so much as purchase a character, beyond that of downloading the game and learning all the mechanics and systems therein. With Dummykin, we hope to ease that process and allow Devikins to reach as wide an audience as possible.
