NFT Burn Mechanisms, and Devikin Population Control.
Hello everyone! Today we’re going to talk about an upcoming feature to the game involving NFT Burning as well as some changes taking place to the Procreation system to address the steadily rising NFT population and the inflation that comes alongside it.
First off, we’ll be soon implementing two burning mechanisms to the game that allow you to take advantage of NFTs that you simply don’t want to train. One of these allows you to burn a single NFT and Incubator and then take an Adult Devikin back to the Embryo stage. This means you can reset training on a Devikin you may feel you didn’t train as well as you wanted to, or rushed to cap.
The second mechanism involves transferring the attributes of one NFT to another. To do this, you’ll have to burn two NFTs, one whose attributes you’d like to transfer over, and one of the same rarity as the Devikin attaining those attributes. So, for example, if you have a rare Devikin that you’d like to move attributes over to, you’d have to choose one NFT to burn for that attribute swap, and one rare NFT to enable the swap to a rare.
We hope these new burning mechanisms help players have the opportunity to remedy any gameplay mistakes they feel they may have made without being punished. We intend to come out with more burning mechanisms as we move forward, and also intend to address what the remainder of this article is for: NFT Population.
Procreation is a fun part of Devikins, and we all have a thrill checking our newborn’s traits whenever it’s delivered. However, the ease of access to it is hurting the Devikins NFT population balance.
In order to safeguard the health of the Devikins population and the game itself in the long run, we need to perform some tweaks to Procreation.
When the concept of Procreation was first batted about and then balanced, DVK and NFT prices had a closer ratio than we have today. To balance this ratio out, the initial procreation price will be pushed to 300DVK instead of 100DVK for Commons, and will increase by 100DVK for each consecutive rarity level.
In summary, Common parents start at 300DVK, Uncommon at 400, Rare at 500, and Mythic at 600.
The cost progression will stay the same, with the price doubled for each procreation count. This is to counter overpopulation wherein only good matches are attractive reasons to procreate more Devikin.
Procreation changes will come with Update 1.2, which will be released later this month.
