Devikins Lore and Story Teaser

We’ve talked about combat and some details regarding Phase 2 of Devikins, but that also comes with the telling of the Devikins story. Today, we’ll be discussing the design philosophy surrounding the lore and upcoming adventures you’ll be able to undertake.

To start with, each and every zone you’ll be able to explore in Devikins is unique and completely disparate from the others. This means they come with their own special threats, enemies, heroes, and villains. You’ll be able to enjoy a bevy of different encounters and story beats that each build up to the real question:

Where in the Void is the Overlord?

Now missing for years, your search will take you from forests, to oceans, to cities large and small, each with their own unique twist. You will have to rise to the occasion in each zone, whether it be by helping those who live there or keeping your wits about you as you find a way out, all the while following the Overlord’s trail and trying to figure out where he’s disappeared to.

But it’s not just about the Overlord’s journey, but your own as well. On your adventure you’ll make friends along the way, learning the story of the characters in each zone and what troubles they face in their everyday lives.

Above is a small sneak peek of a few of the enemies you might be able to encounter, many of which have been twisted by the Void and the unsettling presence of an Other, a being outside the known world whose presence can corrupt those around them.

And below, you’ll be able to check out a zone concept with wicked gothic spires and a strange, industrial twist.

We hope to offer you a massively unique experience in each and every zone that you journey to, from the enemies you encounter to the environments, as well as those who might help (or hinder) you along the way.
